Director, Strategic Pricing
SailPoint is looking for a passionate SaaS Pricing leader who will own the development of pricing strategy and drive operational excellence. The organization is looking for someone with experience as an expert market, customer and competitor researcher, a leader who can partner with operational and systems teams to bring new and updated pricing and packaging to the market, and has the ability to drive strategy and alignment with product, marketing, finance and sales executives.
The pricing leader will drive the development of new business models, optimize pricing and packaging offerings, provide deal level guidance to sales and customer success teams, and ensure alignment with SailPoint's global pricing strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Drive executive level alignment with product, marketing, sales, and finance leaders on pricing strategy across all SailPoint products and services
- Projects will include price points and tier differentiation for new and current products, customer segments to target, feature prioritization, and deal level guidance to account managers
- Drive pricing research via customer and 3rd party surveys, customer and prospect interviews and internal data analysis
- Drive packaging improvements and customer willingness to pay.
- Research and report on competitor price points and offerings
- Develop hypothesis-driven price tests
- Model financial and business impact of pricing options
- In collaboration with product leaders, PMM and finance, develop the business case for pricing changes
- Collaborate with product and marketing leaders on internal and external communication, and sales enablement
- Collaborate with product leaders, deal desk and business operations on systems changes, SKU development and adjustments in Salesforce
- Collaborate with product leaders and data teams on dashboards and reporting
- Monitor and report on KPIs associated with pricing changes
Requirements:
- Ability to develop deep user and customer empathy
- 8-10 years of experience in market research, pricing, business operations, product or strategy with deep expertise in SaaS
- Significant experience with expertise in market, customer and competitor research
- Internal surveys and data analysis experience
- Comfortable with SQL and tools such as Qualtrics, Sawtooth, Tableau Amplitude and Salesforce
- Excellent communicator (written, verbal)
- Ability to partner with product, marketing and customer facing teams to design and bring to market innovative pricing and packaging
- Must be accessible, approachable and be able to work in a highly collaborative work environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with a bias for action
