The Position
We are looking for a Director, Financial Operations to lead the Financial Operations teams for KAYAK/OpenTable. Reporting to the Senior Director, Accounting, the Director, Financial Operations is responsible for owning the Accounts Payable function for North America, the Order-to-Cash functions globally for OpenTable and North America for KAYAK, continuously streamlining and improving our financial processes, and ensuring timely and accurate monthly closes. This position requires someone highly motivated with excellent leadership, problem-solving and communication skills that flourishes with process improvement and enjoys working in an ambitious, fast-paced environment to support our continued growth.
In this role, you will:

  • Manage a team of 30+ and provide guidance required to strengthen, develop and build an impactful team
  • Oversee the order-to-cash function globally for Open Table and North America for KAYAK, including revenue, billing, cash and collections functions
  • Be responsible for the procure-to-pay function for North America (KAYAK/OpenTable)
  • Develop a deep understanding of revenue streams and key customers to further enhance and streamline the global order-to-cash process
  • Build close relationships with the Commercial teams and advise them on all order- to- ash related matters
  • Understand and translate regional needs into global processes/enhancements
  • Support the team in inspiring change, enhancing operating efficiencies, revamping processes, implementing new systems and developing strong internal controls
  • Be responsible for the development, maintenance and documentation of all policies and procedures related to assigned areas of responsibility
  • Coordinate with Internal Audit/SOX to ensure order-to-cash and procure-to-pay controls are well designed and operating effectively
  • Work cross-functionally with various business owners to drive process improvements and automation into the financial operations processes, bringing best in class practices and creative solutions to accounting operations
  • Champion a culture of service excellence and be accountable for meeting agreed critical metrics for each area of order to cash and procure to pay
  • Work alongside the team on strategic, ad-hoc projects related to challenges we will face as a growing, multi-national company
  • Hire, direct and supervise the financial operations teams. Cultivate a professional, friendly and supporting atmosphere

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business required
  • 10+ years of experience in procure-to-pay, order-to-cash or shared service functions
  • Experience leading large teams with 7+years of people management experience, including proven ability to recruit, manage, train and coach staff
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and willing to actively participate in process improvement projects
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, including task prioritization and effective time management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both verbal and written, ability to communicate confidently and professionally with all levels within the organization
  • Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite and/or Salesforce a plus
