Cost Accounting professional that will assemble, review, and analyze financial data. Conducts analysis and participates in audits and special projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end closing process: preparing, analyzing and booking recurring and non-recurring journal entries, completing business unit deliverables
  • Contract review resulting in project creation with monitoring for performance
  • Comprehensive Estimate at Completion (EAC) analysis in conjunction with Build of Material (BOM) analysis
  • Shipped Unit Cost (SUC) and Cost of Poor Quality calculations
  • Billing creation and submission for assigned programs
  • Monthly Sales/COS/Margin Forecasting
  • Compile the monthly purchase price variance forecast and work with purchasing department to understand price variances
  • Provides accurate Program Cost information to Finance and Value Stream
  • Assists in developing and testing SOX expectations
  • Supporting business reviews and providing drivers of key performance indicators on a monthly basis to key stakeholders.
  • Performs varied work assignments with limited supervision.
  • Conducts and documents moderately complex financial analysis projects.
  • Brings inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management, along with proposals for resolution



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
  • Finance and/or accounting experience in preferably in manufacturing environment
  • Prior cost accounting experience, such as analytics
  • Presentation skills and ability to explain assumptions, basis of estimate and detailed financial analyses clearly and concisely to all levels of Leadership
  • Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SAP system or other MRP systems with experience in data mining.
  • Understanding of military contracts (FFP, Cost Plus, T&M)
  • Understanding of government accounting, i.e. FAR, DFARS, CAS
  • MS Excel advance functions, such as charts & graphs, lookups, pivot tables, and sum/if
  • Sound reasoning skills and ability to work with broad base of technical, operations, finance and sr. leadership.
  • Ability to work with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to reverse-engineer formulas and files, work with large datasets and data mining
