Accountant I - SEC Reporting
The Accountant I - SEC Reporting is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures throughout the organization's accounting cycle. This includes analyzing financial information, supporting the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures. This position is also required to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the accounting process, and assist with SEC financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Corporate Accounting and Close
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
- Assist in the consolidation process to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close.
- Assist with internal and external auditors.
- SEC Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of 10-K's & 10-Q's, including preparation of draft technical language.
- Assist in XBRL review of SEC filings.
- Assist with the preparation of other SEC filings as necessary.
- Corporate Financial Reporting
- Research and make recommendations on unique accounting and reporting items.
- Support special projects within various accounting functions.
- Assist with variance analysis as required within the entire organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related discipline.
- Working toward completion of CPA exam
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and economic principles.
- Highly proficient with Excel, with knowledge of and experience with financial software applications.
- Experience analyzing financial data
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills
- Able to exercise independent judgment and problem-solve
