Overview:

The Team Leader Accounting is responsible for providing the Leadership, Management, and progression of all the members of the German Accounting Team in Sofia. In this capacity, he/she is also responsible for ensuring that all the In-Scope Accounting activities, as detailed within the Accounting Statement of Work as agreed between the customer entity from Mitel Group and the captive shared service center, are performed accurately and in a timely manner. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage an accounting team and support the team members’ day-to-day tasks and operations, as well as their professional and personal development

• Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of accounting information as well as the analytical review of business development for numerous German entities within the Unify Group

• Perform month-end account closing activities and reconciliations

• Oversee GL balance accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulation

• Oversee the recording and validation of journal entries, ensuring they are accurate and in compliance with the accounting standards

• Prepare local GAAP accounts as of year-end (HGB)

• Main point of contact for auditors and stakeholders in Germany

• Improve the current processes within the accounting department, create and establish new ones in time of integration between two companies

• Support the ERP migration where necessary

• Provide ad-hoc reports

Requirements:

• University degree in Accounting, ACCA/CIMA qualified or currently studying for ACCA/CIMA will be considered advantage

• Familiar with the relevant Tax requirements;

• German GAAP knowledge will be considered advantage

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting

• SAP, MS Office (advanced excel skills)

• At least 2 years leadership and management experience

• Proficient English Language Skills (written and verbal)

• Very good German Language skills (written and verbal)

• Strong Analytical Skills
