The Role

The Finance Transformation Consultant – Alteryx COE supports Global Finance Transformation to streamline and automate Finance processes to support business decision-making. The role is a key contributor to the automation initiatives across all global Finance functions.

The incumbent develops automated Alteryx solutions which involve design, development, maintenance, and optimization of Finance processes integrated with data from our Finance Enterprise Data Lake and our Infor General Ledger. The role is responsible for developing straight through processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting operations. As technology evolves, the incumbent is required to learn quickly for new technology tools, work in a fast-paced team-driven environment and communicate well with business and technical personnel.

Position Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Alteryx COE Manager, this role is primarily accountable for the timely and accurate service delivery of assigned projects.  Responsibilities include the following:

  • Work with business users to solicit requirements of the automation initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency, data handling and reporting
  • Design, code and functionally test the automated solutions for complicated use cases
  • Develop reusable workflow patterns and shared macros for community to use
  • Provide training, and promote use of the intake tool, best practices and common design patterns through Alteryx showcases and monthly technology roundtable meetings
  • Serve as consultant for design questions
  • Coordinate user acceptance test and fix any issues during testing phase
  • Prepare training documents and provide training to end users
  • Communicate to key stakeholders on the progress of the automation initiative
  • Document all processes and other technical deliverables for ease of use and transparency
  • Effectively communicate significant production updates and challenges to management as well as to the Business Unit in a timely manner

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong accounting knowledge and accounting operations background is required
  • Strong analytical skills and a desire to become more tech savvy
  • Creative thinking and a change agent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Alteryx experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience with other automation tools is a plus including Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Anaplan, VBA, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Experience in data modeling or writing stored procedures in DBMS systems like SQL Server is a plus
  • Analyzing user requirements, managing system testing is a plus
  • Comfortable to work with teams from diverse culture and geographies
  • Ability to work in ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing time and workload with aggressive timelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures, geographies, and senior leadership.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding communication and active listening skills, with a strong ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels within the organization.
  • Highly organized with an ability to work in a fast-paced, multi stakeholder environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Overtime may be required to meet business deadlines.
