Position Summary
Who are we?Right across the Pipera metro station, the Samsung Shared Services Centre Europe, established in 2016 in Bucharest (Romania) covers Financial, Customer Service and HR processes for Samsung subsidiaries across Europe.
Role and Responsibilities
We seek an experienced AR SME to govern and optimize AR processes, with a strong focus on governance, and stakeholder coordination. The role supervises execution by BPO ensures adherence to standards, supports internal and external audits, shares knowledge with the teams, and tracks KPIs. The successful candidate will act as the SPOC for subsidiaries, driving continuous improvement and providing data-driven insights to leadership.
- Drive process standardization across Accounts Receivable processes (collections, disputes management, order desk, cash allocation)
- Ensure process changes are being implemented consistently across subsidiaries and BPO
- Lead and / or Supervise process improvement initiatives and ensure timely implementation through assigned teams
- Lead transition governance for new processes or teams, ensure proper risk assessment and control design; ensure appropriate internal communication in terms of goals and milestones with stakeholders
- Map new processes, define procedures and process maps in agreement with Transformation Manager
- Identify areas where additional scope can be transferred and support transition of activities, working together with BPO team
- Support system rollouts: advise on process related aspects/needs when IT projects are implemented in the respective process areas
- Provide support in solving various system issues, escalating to HQ SAP/Portal teams where necessary
- Define and maintain AR dashboards and new KPIs; lead ad hoc data requests and executive-level reporting
- Validate and analyze metrics, understand reasons for SLA misses and review and advise on improvement action plan prepared by BPO for own area of responsibility
- Report periodically on the status of initiatives driven to Head of SSCE/ Head of Finance/ Finance Transformation Manager
- Serve as local contact point for all questions regarding AR processes
- Review feedback/escalations from subsidiaries with respect to process performance and initiate actions to address concerns together with BPO
- Work together with Management team to set-up robust control environment
- Prioritize initiatives designed to improve metrics, review progress and sign-off closure
- Get involved in resolving major process challenges, especially where the process has to go for an overhaul, or if there are big knowledge gaps identified
- Provide user accesses approving authorizations based on requests received from InHouse/BPO
Skills and Qualifications
Your profile:
- Educational background in Economics, Accounting, or Finance
- 5+ years of Finance experience (out of which min 2 years in an AR role) , with demonstrated experience in process governance, intermediation, risk management, or lead/oversight roles
- Expertise in Accounts Payable (PTP process) is an advantage
- Knowledge of working in SAP and MS Office – advance level (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), any other system is a plus
- Advance level of English, additional language would be a plus
- High capacity to work under pressure and to respect deadlines, excellent time management skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ensure the integrity of the financial data - high attention to details, used to work in ambiguous environments with volatile information
- Deliver reliable results according to the defined deadline
- High motivation and ability to learn
- Ability to work independently & collaboratively, open-minded, and proactive attitude
- Good presentation skills, able to adapt to different audiences
- Project management experience is an advantage
