We are looking for a Finance Specialist for a permanent position to manage intercompany processes within Sanoma Learning.
About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing intercompany processes across multiple legal entities within Sanoma Group.
Your core responsibility is to ensure accurate and timely intragroup invoicing and reconciliations, supporting the overall financial closing and reporting processes.
On a monthly basis, you will:
- Manage intercompany invoicing processes, ensuring correctness and completeness
- Perform intercompany reconciliations, investigating and resolving differences in close collaboration with counterparties
- Support the month-end closing process, ensuring intercompany balances are properly recorded and aligned
- Ensure that intercompany transactions are correctly reflected in reporting systems (HFM)
- Perform key controls related to intercompany transactions
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing intercompany master data (customer and vendor data, trading partners) and monitoring data quality
- Creating and validating intercompany invoices, including manual postings and corrections, and monitoring billing flows to accounting
- Reviewing intercompany reconciliation differences and ensuring timely posting of counterpart transactions
- Coordinating and resolving intercompany disputes and inquiries between entities
- Supporting period-end closing by performing intercompany accruals and group-level reconciliations ( HFM reconciliation)
- Performing and documenting key internal controls related to intercompany processes
- Monitoring and managing system interfaces, identifying and escalating errors and exceptions, and supporting system testing and implementations
You will act as a key contact for intercompany matters, working closely with finance colleagues across countries, as well as controllers and other stakeholders.
In addition:
- You will support statutory and tax reporting from an intercompany perspective
- Act as a contact point for auditors in intercompany-related topics
- Proactively collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth and transparent processes
You will also play an important role in:
- Improving and harmonizing intercompany processes across the organization
- Driving efficiency and automation in invoicing and reconciliation workflows
- Participating in finance development initiatives, such as system implementations ( SAP S/4HANA)
About you
To succeed in this role, we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with intercompany exposure
- Strong understanding of intragroup transactions and reconciliation processes
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles (local GAAP; IFRS is a plus)
- Experience with SAP/S4HANA or similar ERP systems is an advantage
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in English and Finnish
- Ability to work effectively in an international environment
