Finance Operations Manager - Hybrid (Birmingham)
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Operations Manager to lead and develop the operational finance function across the TXP Group. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this key leadership role is responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, effective cash management and continuous process improvement to support business growth. With a strong focus on operational finance, the successful candidate will drive efficiency, scalability and the successful integration of acquired businesses into TXP’s finance processes and systems, maintaining high standards of control and data integrity.
As a confident communicator, you will build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, providing valuable insight into financial and operational performance while influencing informed commercial decisions that deliver improved business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the month-end close process across all Group entities, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of management accounts and reporting outputs.
  • Own the integrity of the General Ledger and Record-to-Report (R2R) process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reviewed and reported.
  • Review and approve accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring robust financial control and audit-ready records.
  • Maintain strong balance sheet governance, ensuring reconciliations are fully evidenced, reviewed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, financial policies and reporting deadlines.
  • Own VAT reporting and support all statutory compliance requirements across the Group.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller with group reporting, financial analysis and operational finance activities.

Skill and Experience
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Minimum three years' experience leading and managing finance teams.
  • Proven experience owning and managing end-to-end finance operations within a multi-entity organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of core finance processes including:
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience using financial systems and ERP platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate confidently with senior leaders.
  • Experience identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and operational performance.
  • Sage Intacct experience.
  • InTime experience.
  • Acquisition integration experience.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, AI-enabled productivity tools, automation agents or workflow automation solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Query and Power Automate.
  • Experience within technology consulting, professional services or private equity-backed businesses.

Education
  • Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Alternatively, significant senior-level operational finance experience with a demonstrable track record of financial control, reporting and team leadership.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping current with finance, compliance, systems and operational best practice.
