The Role

Finance Operations Assistant

Location: London- hybrid 50%

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time 35 hours

Purpose of the role

The purpose of the role is to assist the wider Finance Operations team in providing a full range of finance administration services to the Just Retirement Group of companies. The role holder will manage day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accurate processing of payments, maintaining effective Cash Management, Accounts Payable and Receivable  processes, and performing balance sheet reconciliations. The role holder helps to ensure financial records are accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies. Excellent interaction with other members of the finance team and the wider business will play an important role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bank Reconciliations

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations

  • Payments Processing via Swift, BACS & Faster Payments

  • Daily Matching & allocation of funds received

  • Journal entry into General Ledger

  • Respond to internal and external finance queries

  • Provide administrative support to the finance team

  • Insurance Accounting & Regulatory reporting

  • Provide support to Internal and External Auditors

What we are looking for

  • Prior Accounts experience

  • Numerate degree or equivalent experience

  • Entry level Accounting or Bookkeeping, or studying towards.

  • Experience of Excel

  • Good problem analysis and pro-active resolution skills.

  • Ability to work on own and to tight deadlines, maintaining exceptional standards of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
