Finance Manager

Do you have previous experience as a Finance Manager or are you ready to take the next step in your career? As the Finance Manager at Essity Edet Mill, you are responsible for the leading, running and development of the Sites finance function in close collaboration with the management team.

Essity Edet Mill, with 400 employees, produces approx. 100,000 tonnes of paper in the form of tissue paper per year. We are characterized by a modern organization, which through commitment and competence manufactures products in a sustainable and innovative way. 86% of the paper produced at the Edet Mill is based on recycled fiber and only 14% is new fiber. After replacing natural gas with biogas, Edet Mill is from 2022 the world's first large-scale paper producer to have a fossil emission free production. The factory consists of several departments such as pulp processing, steam plant, papermaking, conversion and logistics.

About the role

As a Site Controller, you are responsible for leading, running and developing the mill's finance function. Today, the finance department consists of three employees, all of whom are based in-site at the Edet Mill. You report to the mill's site manager and are part of the management team. In the role, you also have a reporting responsibility to the regional controller based in the Netherlands.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the product behind the numbers. We encourage you to be curious about all elements of our barrier breaking products, especially our soft-tissue ones!

What you will do

  • Provide Finance Partnering to the Site Manager, through providing recommendations for direction and investments based on Financial insights.  

  • Be responsible for financial and operational reporting and analysis related to the mill

  • Lead and support the organization in the work with the annual financial budget and quarterly forecasting

  • Coordinate and support the mill investment process, preparation of investment applications, cost forecasting and monthly follow-up

  • Further develop and implement working methods that comply with Essity's internal requirements and that ensure effective solutions to deviating working methods

  • Proactively identify, lead and support ongoing improvement activities

  • Actively promote cost awareness at the mill

  • Be responsible for compliance with accounting and reporting rules and Essity's internal control system

  • Lead, develop and inspire a team of 3 direct reports.

  • Be responsible for the communication between the mill and the sales organization regarding the internal pricing

To succeed in the role, you should also be solution-oriented and have a genuine interest in people. As a leader, you are committed and have a good ability to inspire and motivate others. You thrive in collaboration with others, have good communication skills and a natural aptitude to create relationships with the employees in your team as well as other departments within the company.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree within Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent working experience.

  • Experience as a financial manager and/or controller.

  • Have experience in leadership with at least one direct report.

  • Capable of explaining financial topics to non-financial audiences, such as basic financial modelling and investment models.

  • Knowledge of Swedish and International Financial Reporting Principles (IFRS)

  • Proficient in English communication skills.

  • Experience of working with a production-oriented ERP system, preferably SAP
