The Job
The Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of business operations for 3 legal entities based in Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and South Africa.
Responsibilities
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing and reporting activities, including the preparation of accruals, reclassifications, reallocations, and other key journal entries.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and full compliance with Group accounting policies, including review of significant accounting judgements.
- Act as the primary point of contact with the Shared Service Centre (SSC) for key finance processes (Record to Report, Purchase to Pay, Invoice to Cash); review deliverables such as reconciliations, participate in regular review meetings (e.g. Balance Sheet reviews, cash collection calls), recommend improvements, follow up on action plans, and support the processing of non-standard transactions.
- Manage and develop a team of 2 Finance Analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Ensure full compliance with all statutory tax requirements in each country, including reconciliation and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual returns for all relevant taxes (CIT, VAT, WHT).
- Review purchase orders and goods receipts to ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices.
- Review payroll reports prior to payment to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local regulations.
- Prepare and review weekly cash flow reports and cash forecasts; manage funding requirements and submit loan or funding requests as needed.
- Act as a finance business partner to local and regional business leaders, providing analysis and insight to support performance management, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across end-to-end finance processes to enhance efficiency, control, and the overall quality of financial information.
Compliance
- Ensure adherence to the Group’s internal control framework (SOX-PCAOB) and strengthen controls where required.
- Prepare annual statutory financial statements in line with local regulations and Group requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to support audit activities and address all audit and compliance requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory obligations relating to e-archiving, safekeeping of accounting records, and company secretarial matters.
Projects
- Contribute to the implementation of new tools and processes to ensure ongoing compliance with evolving statutory requirements.
- Support and actively participate in key projects from a finance perspective (e.g. system implementations, process optimization initiatives).
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Several experience in Finance, including 3-5 years in a Finance Manager or similar role within an international group.
- Proven experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Advanced proficiency in both written and spoken Arabic and English.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy, ability to priorities competing demands, and a willingness to learn.
- Advanced user of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong working knowledge of finance and ERP systems; experience with Oracle Financial Applications and HFM would be an advantage.
