Red Bull New York (“RBNY”) are one of 30 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS) and one of the league’s ten original charter clubs. Founded in 1996, RBNY has competed in MLS since its inception. RBNY’s First Team plays its home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey and its Second Team plays its home matches at Montclair State University. RBNY are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull GmbH, after which the team is named.

RBNY’s First Team is a three-time MLS Supporters’ Shield winner and a two-time Conference Champion, while the Second Team is the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Champion. RBNY also operates one of the nation’s premier youth soccer development programs, spanning local partnerships across New York and New Jersey. RBNY’s Academy is ranked among the top development organizations in the country.

Position Summary

The Finance Manager will play a key role in the organization providing ongoing strategic decision support to all business areas of RBNY and directly assist the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer in monitoring all financial planning and analysis and business decision support operations of the company, including but not limited to Red Bull New York, Inc., Red Bull Arena, Inc. and RBNY Academy, Inc. 

The ideal candidate is proactive, entrepreneurial, and highly organized—someone who is comfortable representing the organization externally, establishing new processes, and driving projects forward in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Alongside the CFO and VP of Finance, support all Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and Financial Strategic Business Decision Support functions relating to RBNY, RBA, and RBNY Academy.

Maintain, improve, and utilize financial models detailing all revenue streams, expenses and capital expenditures to create detailed, bottoms up budgets and periodic forecasts.

Work with department heads to manage all revenue, expense and capital expenditures budgets and forecasts.

Manage the deal memo process and work with Arena Operations and Sales teams to develop financial models and assess the profitability of proposed arena events, partnerships, and sponsorship deals.

Maintain and improve ongoing reports such as:

the post-match Management Reporting Package, which includes key performance indicators on both the sporting and commercial sides of the business and consolidated monthly financial results.

the Daily Ticket Sales Report, which includes key daily ticket sales performance indicators with focus on upcoming, past and future matches while keeping track of performance to goals.

Ongoing identification of Risks and Opportunities in departmental budgets and forecasts and communicate such findings to stakeholders.

Partner with the in-house Legal team to manage and maintain the internal deal approval process from draft to signatures, as well as assist sponsorship team with P&L analysis for sponsor deals

Manage the daily tracking and reporting of ticket sales, detailing Risks and Opportunities for each match and overall season.

Partner with the Accounting team to ensure all Red Bull Global policies and controlling guidelines are met.

Perform financial analyses as requested by the VP of Finance, Chief Financial Officer, General Manager, and other key stakeholders.

Specific Job Requirements

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written). 

A team-oriented mentality that prioritizes the interests of the Company and smooth working relationships with all internal staff and management. 

Strong financial modeling skills and the willingness to proactively research and learn new capabilities to meet the needs of the business. 

Advanced capabilities with MS Excel, particularly macros, vloookups, and the management of pivot tables. 

Strong analytical skills complemented by the ability to interact with and explain key findings to Senior Management and business stakeholders. 

Detail-oriented nature and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and professional manner. Strong organizational and prioritization skills are key.  

Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Experience with SAP and Oracle Hyperion is a plus. 

Prior experience working with ticketing systems, client relationship management systems and databases is desirable. 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Economics is desirable). 

3-5 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Finance, Business Strategy, Corporate Development, or Investment Banking. 

Prior experience with developing, managing, and analyzing financial models is a must.  

Prior experience working for a sports team, athletic department, entertainment venue/event, or in the media/entertainment industry is desirable. 

Additional Information

Because of the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, your assigned hours may vary to reflect our needs (includes nights and weekends).

The base salary for this position is $110,000. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay is subject to change and may be modified.
