NLC Health Ventures is a leading healthtech and biotech venture builder and fund manager based in Amsterdam. We build and scale ventures from breakthrough science and invest across stages from pre-seed to Series C.
With around 40 professionals and €50M+ in assets under management, we operate across Europe and North America. We currently manage four funds and are actively raising our fifth, with the ambition to launch new funds every 2–3 years.

The RoleAs Finance Manager (Senior Individual Contributor), you will play a central role in running and scaling NLC’s finance function.
You’ll operate at the intersection of accounting, financial control, and decision support, acting as the link between day-to-day financial operations and senior leadership. Working in a lean team (CFO, Head of Finance, Finance Manager, Financial Administrator), you will take ownership of core finance processes while helping professionalize and scale the function.
This is a hands-on role with significant exposure to leadership, investors, and a complex multi-entity structure spanning venture building and fund management.

- Lead day-to-day finance operations across multiple entities
- Own the month-end close process (accruals, provisions, intercompany, reconciliations)
- Review and ensure quality of all accounting outputs (AP, AR, bank, fixed assets)
- Prepare and review management reporting, financial statements, and variance analyses
- Maintain strong financial controls, documentation, and audit readiness
- Act as primary contact for external accountants, auditors, and advisors
- Deliver clear, structured financial insights to support leadership decisions
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Build high-quality Excel models and PowerPoint materials for internal and external use
- Improve reporting through automation and tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL-based environments)
- Translate complex data into concise, executive-ready outputs
- Oversee outsourced payroll providers (NL and international platforms)
- Review payroll inputs/outputs for accuracy and compliance
- Coordinate payroll processes with HR and leadership
- Support headcount reporting, compensation analysis, and workforce cost tracking
- Act as the functional bridge between the Financial Administrator and senior finance leadership
- Review work, set priorities, and ensure high-quality, timely outputs
- Drive continuous improvement of processes, templates, and workflows
- Contribute to building a high-performance, detail-driven finance culture
- 4–7 years of experience in Big 4 Transaction Services, Deals, Consulting, or similar high-performance environments
- Strong foundation in financial accounting, reporting, and control
- Highly detail-oriented, structured, and quality-driven
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; able to produce polished, decision-ready outputs
- Experience with or strong interest in analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL)
- Comfortable combining hands-on execution with review and coordination
- Able to operate under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communicator with the ability to work with senior stakeholders and external parties
- Dutch language skills are a plus
