The Centre of Excellence FP&A team is a dynamic and collaborative group dedicated to providing critical financial insights and support to drive the company's strategic objectives. We develop and support the analytic technologies to provide our internal customers structured access to data that is timely, accurate, and actionable. We collaborate in a fast-paced environment, contributing to innovative solutions, and demonstrating meticulousness.

About the Role

You will primarily be responsible for providing financial analysis and insight into the performance of multiple Elsevier Business Units representing over $3b worth of sales and revenue of Elsevier. You will manage a team of 4 and work closely with Business Decision Support finance teams (BDS). You will play a crucial role in building a dynamic service-oriented culture and maintaining the reputation of the Centre of Expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of key management reporting and analysis to supported Business Units, Elsevier senior leadership and RELX (parent company) FP&A

  • Drive the development of Budgets, Forecasts, and monthly LV for sales across regions and key products

  • Participate in the quota setting process for the sales organisation

  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, implementation of GenAI tools, process redesign

  • Own sales planning application (Oracle)

  • Coordinate reporting and budgeting/forecasting cycles within BDS, ensuring the requirements and deadlines of Elsevier FP&A are met

Requirements:

  • Have very strong analytical skills and MS Excel modeling capabilities to provide deep insights and resolve finance inquiries

  • Experience with manipulating large data sets, as well as ability to quickly learn new systems and tools

  • Be proactive and motivated individual with a can-do mentality, ready to take on challenges in a complex and demanding environment. Curious by nature, striving for continuous improvement

  • Have a keen eye for detail without losing sight of the bigger picture

  • Have strong communication skills to clearly convey financial information to a range of stakeholders in our multi-national and multi-cultural environment

  • Have Professional Qualification / Master’s (regular) in Finance, Accounting or related area

  • 10-15 years of experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis, including providing commentaries for senior stakeholders

  • Preferably experience with Oracle Hyperion products and Smartview

Skills Required
