The problem: The current go-to for start-ups and SMEs is outsourcing their finance team to accountancy firms who are very far removed from the business and often simply produce numbers without context.
Our solution: At fin-house, we deliver 'in-house'. This means our clients will have a team IN their business, providing proactive insight, advice and commercial support, enabling them to make the right decisions at the right time. We make sure our clients get the finance function they need, when they need it, seamlessly integrated into their business.
The key bitsLocation: We are based in Waterloo (London) with a minimum of three days in the office a week
Salary: Between £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience

As one of our fin-managers, you’ll be the glue that holds everything together. You will:
- Oversee the processing of the day-to-day transactions, ensuring that they are a breeze - say no to manual processes!
- Transform the finance function into a value-adding machine, implementing and developing scalable systems and processes.
- Work closely with our clients, immersing yourself in their organisations and ultimately become an extension of their team.
- Be at the forefront of innovation in the finance function and make an impact on every organisation you support. You’ll be adding value, not just producing numbers!
- Gain extensive experience across a wide variety of industries and sectors, working in some of the most exciting startups and impact-driven organisations.
- Develop your career in finance much more quickly here, and we will work with you on a purposeful career development plan, with ongoing mentoring.
- Month-end: Overseeing month-end to ensure all necessary data is captured and processed accurately by our fin-operators.
- Analysis: Producing insight that drives impact and supports decision-making across your portfolio. This will also include storytelling and messaging – so that the numbers, trends and analytics are brought to life.
- Reporting: Managing the end-to-end budgeting and forecasting process, with the latter being key. Your role is to really help each organisation remain agile and future-focused.
- Networking: Building strong relationships both internally and externally across your portfolio so you are the trusted business partner for all things finance.
- Mentoring: Training fin-operators across the wider fin-house team, assisting them with their learning and development.
- Projects: Leading on change management projects – whether that is software implementation, reviewing processes or new commercial opportunities across your clients or fin-house.
RequirementsWhat you'll bring:

- You’re a fast learner who has no difficulty in picking up new technologies and can easily adapt to new situations.
- You have intellectual curiosity and a passion for continuous learning and development.
- You are an excellent communicator with great people skills and high levels of self-awareness. You love to pay attention to the details.
- You have impeccable time-management and organisation skills.
- An accountancy qualification is desirable, but we’re willing to consider relevant alternative paths.
- 4-5 years’ experience working in a finance-related role
- Experience with Xero and/or QuickBooks is ideal
- Proficient at Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Experience of working with a portfolio of clients is desirable
