Europcar is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team supporting our Australia and New Zealand operations on a permanent full time basis located at our Head Office in Tullamarine, Victoria.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accounting team delivers accurate and timely month-end and year-end reporting, while driving process and system improvements across finance. You’ll also oversee tax, budgeting, and forecasting obligations, ensuring compliance and accuracy with zero error tolerance.
Working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director, you’ll bring a strong understanding of business functions and operating systems to enhance the efficiency of our controlling function. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing improvement of financial management within a fast-paced, customer-focused organisation.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
Lead accurate and timely financial reporting for AU & NZ including monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc submissions
Oversee audits, statutory accounts, tax returns and government reporting obligations while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements
Drive forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling, including long-term planning and business case support
Partner with senior leaders and managers across the business to provide insights that shape strategic and operational decision making
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, cash flow management, month-end and year-end close processes and internal controls
Manage, mentor and develop direct reports, ensuring performance targets are achieved
Act as a second-in-charge to the Financial Controller
Contribute to strategic projects as directed by the Financial Controller and Finance Director
To be considered you should possess:
Minimum 7 years' proven experience gained in mid to large corporate retail, travel & tourism or services industry
A relevant Bachelor’s degree, with CPA or CA qualification highly regarded.
Strong technical expertise in audit, financial reporting, and income tax, ideally gained in a large or complex business environmen
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and procedures.
Proven experience preparing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
Hands-on experience managing external audits and year-end processes.
Solid background in general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close activities.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Working knowledge of SAP financial consolidation or similar systems.
