Context of the role
Reporting to the Global Head of Finance, this role will be based in Singapore. He/She will support the Finance team in the team management, global finance operations and assist to implement policies, systems, and programs in a fast-evolving Fintech company.
Key Responsibilities
People Management
- Supervise and lead a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative team environment
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and identify training and development opportunities for team members
- Build and maintain a high-performance culture within the finance team
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
- Contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts
Financial Operations
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and expense management
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls
Audit Oversight
- Coordinate and liaise with internal and external auditors
- Assist in FS preparation
- In charge and oversee the audit process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of audit requirements
- Implement audit recommendations and improvements in financial processes
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and provide insights
- Collaborate with the Finance Director and other stakeholders to achieve financial goals
Cash Management
- Oversee cash flow management, ensuring optimal utilisation of funds and maintaining liquidity
- Collaborate with Treasury to manage banking relationships and optimise financial transactions
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
Professional Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) is a plus
- Proven experience in Audit & Finance, with at least 7 years in a similar role
- Experienced in one of the Big 4
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and accounting practices (IFRS, US GAAP)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (Oracle)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis is a plus
