Job Description

The Finance Manager will oversee the daily finance and accounting functions. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining accounting processes, overseeing A/P and A/R personnel, revenue and expense tracking, and month-end close procedures. The Finance Manager is a key member of the leadership team and will be responsible for the timely and accurate presentation of the monthly financial statements. In addition, the Finance Manager will perform various analytical functions, including preparation of budgets, variance analysis, and inventory analysis. The position may require travel from time to time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
  • Develop and maintain systems and controls necessary to produce monthly, accrual basis financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Collaborate with other departments to prepare annual operating budgets and other financial projections.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report key metrics vs plan and make recommendations to company leadership as necessary to achieve goals.
  • Plan, study, and collect inventory data to determine costs of business activity including raw material, labor, and other overheads.
  • Support company’s annual pricing exercise.
  • Develop financial models for approving capital requests.
  • Lead contact for year-end external audit including annual physical inventory.
  • Support preparation of other financial/compliance reporting as necessary including all tax related schedules.
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvement opportunities in accounting workflows and systems.
  • Backup for A/P and A/R functions.

Qualifications


  • Ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of finance and full cycle accounting.
  • Strong problem solving, conceptual thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work closely with all members of the organization.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills.
  • Ability to juggle and manage competing tasks and demands and deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to make sound judgements and take the initiative to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and make decisions/choices within the functional area of responsibility with minimal direct supervision.
  • Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
  • Must be a well-organized, self-directed individual with strong attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar business discipline required, master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel advanced functions required.
  • Experience in analysis of financial statements and large data sets required.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
