Finance Manager

As Finance Manager, you will be the key right hand to our CFO. You will own the execution of finance, legal, and admin end-to-end. This is a high-impact position at the core of our operations.

This is not a back-office job. It is one of the most multidisciplinary roles in the company,  and one of the most consequential. In deep tech, every euro we raise turns into robots. You make that conversion fast, clean, and never the bottleneck.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build the room and fuel the raise: own the data room, investor reporting, KPI packs and due diligence requests, and produce the material that gets a round over the line. You will sit close to the action on our next fundraise.

• Scale our finance stack from near-zero: improve, choose the tools, wire them together, and use AI and automation to kill repetitive finance and admin work, reconciliation, reporting, document handling, data extraction, in close collaboration with the DevOps team.

• Own cash forecasting, burn tracking, runway monitoring, budget vs. actual, the numbers and analysis the founders look at every week. You are in the room when we decide what we can afford.

• Design process that fits a startup: enough structure for investors and auditors to trust us, light enough that nobody at UMA ever waits on finance. Rigor where it counts, speed everywhere else.

• Drive public funding and tax incentives end to end: CIR/CII, BPI financing, and European grants, eligibility work, file preparation, filing, and the audit trail that holds up years later.

• Handle corporate and legal: cap table maintenance and BSPCE administration, corporate housekeeping and statutory filings, contract lifecycle management (NDAs, signature workflows, filing, renewals, obligations tracking). You keep the paperwork tight and coordinate our external counsel.

• Optimize the day-to-day finance engine: supplier invoices, payments, expense flows, banking, and the quarterly close with our external accountants.

• Be the reliable, straight-talking point of contact for the team on anything finance and admin: simple rules, fast answers.

• 3+ years in consulting, investment bank, audit, or a finance role in a fast-growing tech startup. What matters is that you have carried real accountability in a demanding environment.

• Genuine breadth. This role is deliberately multidisciplinary. You move between a cash forecast, a supplier file, a CIR claim and a board pack on the same day.

• You work with AI tools by default, they're part of how you operate, and you'll use them to multiply your own output here.

• An entrepreneurial mindset: you act before being asked, build the process that didn't exist, and would rather ship something useful today than something perfect next quarter.

• Agility over procedure. You bring structure to ambiguity and keep rigor where it matters, without importing a big-company playbook that would slow us down.

• Strong interest in deep tech, robotics, AI, hardware or any frontier technology.

• Excellent English. French is a strong plus.

• Master's in finance, business school, Master CCA/DSCG or equivalent.
