The Finance Manager for Japan is responsible for leading finance and accounting operations, providing financial insights to support business objectives, and ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency to drive sustainable business growth.

This position is part of the Finance team located in Tokyo and will be onsite. At Radiometer, our vision is to improve global healthcare with reliable, fast, and easy patient diagnoses.

The Finance Manager is a key finance and accounting position that requires a high-caliber individual to collaborate closely with the commercial organization in achieving financial targets and business objectives. Based in Tokyo, this role serves as an organizational hub across functions in Japan and has a reporting line to the global finance team.

This role is responsible for executing day-to-day financial and accounting operations while driving operational efficiency through the identification and implementation of system and process enhancements. These initiatives will strengthen internal controls, improve service levels, and enhance overall operational performance. The successful candidate will be able to understand, anticipate, and deliver the appropriate financial information, metrics, and business intelligence needed to support effective decision-making.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

Manage overall accounting, finance and FP&A functions. Expected to become corporate business partner through responsibilities. Hands-on role in a lean organization.

• Accounting & reporting
• Internal Audit
• Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Closing (US-GAAP, J-GAAP)
• Budget planning and monthly forecasting
• Design & implementation of SOX controls, assessing operational effectiveness of such controls
• Tax returns
• People and organizational management

The essential requirements of the job include:

• At least 5 years of relevant accounting/finance experience
• Excellent business writing and clear conversation in English is a MUST
• SOX experience
• Japanese: native level
• University graduate, bachelor’s degree needed

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• The Official Business Skills Test in Bookkeeping (BOKI), 2rd grade or above.
• Working experience at foreign-owned company
• Demonstrated leadership potential and a strong interest in pursuing a people management career in the future.
