The Finance Manager leads financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis for the General Industrial (GI) Division, serving as a strategic partner to Marketing, Business Development, and R&D. This role manages divisional budgeting and performance analysis, oversees incentive plan financials, provides business insights to support growth and profitability, and develops financial talent while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all regional annual operating plans and monthly forecasts for General Industrial, including preparation of annual operating plan schedules and exhibits as assigned and bottom-up budgets for Marketing. 
  • Provide direct financial support to the Business Development and Marketing teams, including ah-hoc analysis, month end reporting, guidance on product profitability, and customer segmentation. 
  • Evaluation, recommendation and coordination/preparation of field budgets as it relates to Incentive Plans. Optimize and streamline the process along with the system and process changes taking place.   
  • Analyze and report on the Division’s financial results and provide monthly commentary on variances. 
  • Financial analysis and support for GI Incentive Plans 
  • Support management by developing and providing accurate and timely financial, statistical, and/or operational reports that are useful in making sound business decisions. 
  • Develop the Financial Analyst for future growth within the organization 
  • Participate in special projects as required (i.e. simplification, ROS initiatives, etc). 
  • Support R&D, providing relevant reporting, analysis, and guidance on productivity metrics. budgetary spending, and capital projects, as well as acting as the conduit between Marketing and R&D to help financially prioritize lab work requests and reporting on new product innovation. 
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in finance, or accounting.
  • Must have five (5) years of finance experience. 
  • Must have coatings industry experience and knowledge. 
  • Must have reporting experience and knowledge. 


Preferred Requirements: 

  • Have performance coatings group knowledge. 
  • Have experience with Sherwin-Williams financial systems.
