The Role
Own finance, statutory compliance, treasury, fund flows, and transaction structuring across the parent company and renewable energy project SPVs. Responsibilities include accounting, tax and Companies Act compliance, monthly close, audits, lender disbursements, equity infusions, debt covenants, financial modeling, cap table analysis, fundraising support, investor diligence, and project finance coordination. The role will build scalable finance processes and may grow into leading the finance function.
Summary Generated by Built In
Client is an AI-first clean energy company that builds and operates solar and battery storage assets for industrial customers. They work across long-term power purchase agreements, group captive structures and dedicated project SPVs, financed through a mix of equity and project debt. That structure is what makes finance here unusual. Every project is a company in its own right, with its own capital structure, lenders, co-investors and compliance obligations. Finance sits close to the deal rather than downstream of it. Incorporated in May 2025, Company has multiple PPAs with 10+ companies including listed companies, and a growing captive order book, totaling to about 50+ MW.  Client is backed by institutional capital. They are still early-stage. Processes are being built as they grow and you will be instrumental in building them.

You will help build and run the finance backbone of Kind Energy and its portfolio of project entities. The work falls into three areas.
01  Finance & Compliance
You will own the financial and statutory compliance framework across the parent company and every project SPV:
• Accounting, financial reporting and the monthly close
• GST, TDS and income tax compliance
• ROC/MCA and Companies Act compliance across multiple SPVs and LLPs (with the help of our CS)
• Statutory audits and coordination with external advisors
• Financial controls, MIS and internal reporting discipline The first goal is a clean, consistent view across every entity.
The second is to build the systems, templates and team that keep it that way as we scale. We are not hiring someone to run compliance manually forever.
02  Fund Flow & Treasury
Renewable projects are capital-intensive, and execution depends on money reaching the right entity at the right time. You will manage:
• Capex drawdowns and lender disbursements
• Vendor payment processes and working capital requirements
• Equity infusion schedules across SPVs
• Debt covenants, reserve accounts and project-level obligations
• Inter-company and SPV fund flows
• Cash-flow planning across the EPC and IPP businesses
You will work closely with the founders and project teams so that financial planning supports execution on the ground.
03  Structuring & Transactions
This is where the role extends well beyond finance operations. You will work on:
• Financial Modelling, capital structuring and shareholding designing for new project SPVs
• Equity structuring across Kind, captive users and co-investors
• Cap table and dilution modelling through the fundraise
• Term sheets and transaction documentation, alongside our legal advisors
• Investor and lender due diligence
• Project finance processes and lender coordination
You are not expected to know all of this on day one. You are expected to want to understand why a structure is being used, not only how it should be accounted for.
• You will work across operating finance, project finance, SPV structuring and transactions, often in the same week. Very few roles at this stage of a career cover that range.
• You will work directly with the founders, with regular exposure to investors, lenders, NBFCs, advisors and counterparties.
• Open access, group captive and storage economics in India are being rewritten right now. It is a genuinely useful thing to understand early.
• As the finance function grows, this seat is meant to grow into leading it.

Requirements
Must have

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with 3+ years of post-qualification experience
• Strong command of GST, TDS, income tax and Companies Act compliance
• Experience across multiple entities or reasonably complex financial structures
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
• Ownership and follow-through without reminders
• Comfort working in a growing organisation where processes are still being formed
Nice to have

• Infrastructure, renewable energy, real estate, NBFC or project finance exposure
• Any exposure to fundraising, debt financing or financial due diligence
• Statutory audit or transaction advisory background from a mid-size or large firm
• Interest in using technology and automation to improve how finance runs
YOUR FIRST FEW MONTHS

• Month 1. A clear picture of every group entity- books, filings, banking, open items. You tell us what is broken.
• Months 2–3. A standardised monthly close and reporting pack across all entities, and a structured payment and fund-flow process.
• From there. You take a real piece of a live transaction, i.e. a new SPV, a lender sanction or an investor due diligence.
THIS ROLE MAY NOT BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF

• You are looking for a narrowly defined role with well-established processes
• You prefer a predictable scope of work that rarely changes
• You are uncomfortable taking ownership before every answer is fully defined
• You would rather stay exclusively within compliance and accounting

Benefits
• Fixed CTC: ₹12–18 LPA, depending on experience
• ESOPs: After a year of performance
• Location: Surat, with periodic travel to Jaipur and Mumbai
• Reports to: Managing Director
