Finance Lead

We're entering our most ambitious chapter yet. WalletConnect Pay is an end-to-end crypto and stablecoin payment method built on the world's largest wallet network — already embedded in Stripe, Coinbase Commerce, Shopify, MoonPay, Shift4, and BitPay, with a landmark partnership with Ingenico bringing stablecoin payments to 40M+ terminals across 120+ countries.

This is a pivotal hire. As we scale payments infrastructure globally, our Finance Leadwill be at the centre of building the financial foundations for a new payment network — structuring revenue engines, and managing the financial complexity of a fast-growing, multi-entity, multi-asset business.

We're looking for a hands-on Finance Lead to own and lead the finance function as a senior individual contributor. This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of strategic finance and operational execution — you'll partner directly with the CEO and Head of Operations to shape how WalletConnect scales financially through its next phase of growth. 

We’re looking for a builder who wants to create the finance function of the future - you will build a team of AI agents who work for you so that you can consistently drive improvements across the organisation. You’ll be proficient with the modern finance stack and able to interface easily with our data, product, engineering and operations teams.

You'll own everything from financial reporting to ensuring every team member gets paid on time. Critically, as we build WalletConnect Pay into a global payment method, you'll work hand-in-hand with our product team to ensure that our finance systems and infrastructure work seamlessly with our technology to ensure accurate reconciliation and reporting.  

Strategic Finance & Investor Relations

• Own the financial reporting for Reown Inc. (US) and WalletConnect Foundation entities (Cayman/BVI).
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes in partnership with the CEO and leadership team.
• Prepare and present management accounts, quarterly financial reports, and board-ready materials.
• Support the CEO with investor relations: maintain the investor CRM, coordinate fundraising activities and roadshows, deliver timely investor updates.
• Design and operate a public financial reporting framework for the WalletConnect Foundation, providing appropriate transparency to the tokenholder community.
• Support the CEO and Head of Operations on strategic initiatives including partnerships, M&A and capital deployment.

Product Monetisation & Commercial Finance

• Partner closely with the product and commercial teams to design and implement pricing and fee structures for our products that integrate with our financial systems for accurate reporting and reconciliation.
• Track and model revenue across multiple payment channels (online, in-store, cross-border) as WalletConnect Pay scales globally.

Treasury & Asset Management

• Build and implement treasury management for both fiat and digital assets, including oversight of the $WCT token.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, including multisignature transaction management.
• Maintain accounts with banks, custodians, market makers, exchanges, and trading desks.
• Manage structured products and ensure proper accounting treatment in coordination with external providers.
• Serve as a multisig account signatory, managing approvals and secure operations.

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Own AP/AR processes end-to-end, ensuring payroll, vendor payments, and revenue recognition are accurate and timely.

• Partner with external accounting firms for bookkeeping, audits, and tax/regulatory filings across all jurisdictions.
• Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns and compliance documentation across all entities.
• Implement scalable finance-ops processes and tooling as the company grows.

• Proven experience as  Finance Lead, Controller, or equivalent hands-on finance leadership role — ideally in a high-growth technology or crypto-native company.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with product teams on building implementing appropriate financial reconciliation and reporting — not just back-office accounting.
• Comfort managing the full finance stack: from investor decks to payroll runs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to operate as a trusted thought partner to the leadership team.
• Self directed, execution orientated and comfortable operating with high autonomy

• Experience working with exchanges, custodians, and market makers.
• Experience with digital assets, token treasury management, and on-chain financial operations.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, international tax regulations, and multi-entity financial operations.
• Familiarity with foundation structures, public disclosures, and regulatory frameworks in the crypto space.
• Payments industry experience — particularly with PSPs, interchange models, or merchant acquiring.
• Experience scaling finance operations from seed/Series A through the growth stage.
