As a Vice President, Release Manager within the Finance Data Insights Release Management team, you will lead the planning and execution of change events across our Finance data platforms. You will empower your team to deliver high-velocity, well-controlled releases, leveraging automation and AI-assisted analytics to improve quality and efficiency. You will partner with stakeholders across the firm, drive operational excellence, and contribute to modernization initiatives that enhance our data capabilities. In this role, you will help shape our team culture, champion continuous improvement, and ensure our releases meet business and regulatory needs.

Job responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end release and change execution across Finance data platforms, including planned and ad hoc events.
  • Lead and develop your team through coaching, prioritization, capacity planning, and performance feedback.
  • Drive high-velocity, well-controlled change by ensuring governance, approvals, documentation, and evidence are completed efficiently.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate risks and issues with clear options, impacts, and mitigation plans.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, set expectations, negotiate scope and timelines, and tailor communications to diverse audiences.
  • Embed AI-assisted analytics and automation into release execution and quality controls to accelerate anomaly detection, regression testing, issue triage, and root-cause investigation.
  • Establish and track operational KPIs, using insights to prioritize continuous improvement.
  • Partner with data engineering and platform teams to improve data quality monitoring and proactive risk identification.
  • Drive efficiency and performance improvement by standardizing processes, reducing manual effort, and improving cycle times.
  • Coordinate and execute testing and quality activities, including regression testing and anomaly detection.
  • Produce executive-ready materials to support leadership visibility and modernization priorities.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in release/change management, program/project management, or related delivery roles in data or technology environments.
  • Experience managing release/change events with strong attention to risk, controls, and stakeholder impact.
  • Strong data analytics skills, including ability to query and analyze data for validation and issue investigation.
  • Experience coordinating testing and quality validation, including regression testing, reconciliations, and data quality checks.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, including influencing, negotiation, and expectation management.
  • Advanced skills in metrics, reporting, and presentation creation, including executive-level PowerPoint outputs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor messages by audience.
  • People leadership experience, including coaching, prioritization, capacity planning, and performance feedback.
  • Advanced Excel or equivalent analytical tooling.
  • Experience using AI-assisted analytics tools and automation to accelerate delivery and improve performance.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Agile delivery mindset, experience using JIRA and working knowledge of JQL.
  • Experience in Financial Services or Consulting.
  • Experience with modern data platforms and tooling, including Databricks.
  • Familiarity with Data Mesh concepts and cloud strategy.
