POSITION SUMMARY

The Finance Coordinator provides cross-functional support across the Corporate Finance department, with a primary focus on payroll processing and secondary responsibilities supporting accounting operations. This role reports directly to the Controller and Staff Accountant, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant finance operations. The Finance Coordinator serves as a key backup for both the Controller and Staff Accountant and is designed as a foundational role with growth potential. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Payroll & Timekeeping 

  • Process bi-weekly payroll under the direction of the Controller and Staff Accountant. 
  • Collect and verify employee time, PTO, and payroll adjustments. 
  • Reconcile payroll reports and support audit schedules. 
  • Process payroll adjustments, corrections, and garnishments as directed. 
  • Coordinate with HR/Benefits on employee data accuracy. 
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and confidentially. 
  • Complete and maintain Wage Assessments.  

 

Accounting & Finance Support 

  • Assist with accounts payable processing and vendor documentation. 
  • Support month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entry preparation. 
  • Assist with credit card audits and expense documentation. 
  • Maintain organized financial records aligned with internal controls. 
  • Work on Audit Packages. 

 

Cross-Functional & Backup Responsibilities 

  • Serve as backup support to the Staff Accountant and Controller. 
  • Assist with internal and external audit documentation. 
  • Support compliance tasks, including payroll tax and sales & use tax tracking. 
  • Assist with special finance projects as assigned. 

 

QualificationsEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma required; Associate degree or coursework preferred. 
  • 1–3 years of payroll, accounting, or finance support experience. 
  • ERP or payroll system experience preferred. 

 

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality. 
  • Working knowledge of payroll and basic accounting principles. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Demonstrates integrity and alignment with company values. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and must maintain eligibility to drive as per the Company Vehicle policy.
  • Must occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, or listen.
