Finance Controller - Finance & Accounts

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned and results-oriented Finance Controller to lead and manage the Finance & Accounts function of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with strong technical accounting expertise, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment. The Finance Controller will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence while partnering closely with business stakeholders.

The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).


Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Assume end-to-end ownership of the organization's accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, bookkeeping activities, and maintenance of accurate books of accounts in accordance with IGAAP and Ind AS.
  • Prepare periodic financial statements and ensure timely completion of statutory, internal, and external audits with minimal audit observations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors and coordinate audit requirements efficiently.

 

Regulatory & Tax Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee timely filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory returns.
  • Monitor changes in accounting, taxation, and regulatory frameworks and ensure appropriate implementation within the organization.

 

Technical Accounting & Controls

  • Review and interpret business contracts, commercial arrangements, and agreements, and translate their financial implications into appropriate accounting treatments in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Establish and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial governance frameworks to safeguard organizational assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiencies.

 

Treasury & Banking Operations

  • Manage banking relationships and act as the key liaison for routine banking operations.
  • Oversee accounting and reconciliation of receipts, payments, investments, and other treasury transactions.
  • Ensure effective cash management and support liquidity planning activities.

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Operations, Business, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Technology.
  • Provide financial insights and support to management in decision-making processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with auditors, consultants, banking partners, and regulatory authorities.

 

 

 


Desired Experience & Skills

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) with 12+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts.
  • Prior experience in the BFSI sector or multinational organizations will be an advantage.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Indian GAAP (IGAAP), Ind AS, taxation, and corporate regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation, review, and audit of financial statements under both IGAAP and Ind AS frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage audits with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely closure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex business situations and determine appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and a commitment to financial integrity.
  • Effective stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with a track record of meeting critical deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and accounting systems, along with proficiency in financial reporting tools and Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications

  • CA or CMA qualification is mandatory.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant post-qualification experience in Finance & Accounts, including financial reporting, taxation, audit coordination, and compliance management.

Skills Required
