About the Role

To make the right IT investments and drive innovation at scale, we’re looking for a Business Controller IT who can combine financial expertise with a true passion for digital transformation. 

As IT Business Controller, you’ll take a central role in our Financial Planning & Cost Controlling cluster, where you’ll take the lead in structuring and providing insights into our IT investments and IT costs. After you created that structure and those insights, you implement a capital allocation process for our organization to ensure we invest in the right areas and get the highest returns out of our investment budget.  
 
You do this by being a trusted partner to our CIO and IT leadership team (especially our Executive Director Product Development), bringing sharp financial insights with strategic impact and by ensuring that our IT spend fuels business growth in line with our strategy.  

This role is part of our Financial Planning & Cost Controlling cluster, giving you a central position in shaping both IT investments and broader cost transparency across the company.

About your tasks:

Be a Trusted Business Partner

  • Act as a strategic finance partner to the CIO and IT leadership team, working closely as a financial co-pilot
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Provide financial perspectives that help shape IT strategy and ensure investments drive tangible business impact

Shape the Future of our IT Capital Allocation

  • Co-design and continuously evolve the IT investment prioritization and capital allocation process
  • Coordinate and, where required, develop business cases for IT initiatives
  • Ensure resources are allocated to initiatives with the highest value creation and strategic relevance
  • Support our ambition to lead Europe’s digital pharmacy by steering IT investments effectively

Drive Transparency & Control

  • Own IT cost and investment reporting across the organization
  • Ensure transparency, accuracy, and IFRS-compliant reporting of IT spend
  • Structure IT costs and investments in line with how the business is steered
  • Monitor budgets and investments, ensuring financial discipline while enabling informed decisions

 

Qualifications

About You:

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in Controlling, Finance, or a comparable role.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with (senior) management and diverse stakeholders across the organization.
  • Strong interest in data, IT, and technology-driven finance topics.
  • Solid understanding of key IFRS accounting principles, particularly regarding the distinction between capital expenditures (CapEx) and operational expenses (OpEx).
  • Proactive and curious mindset, with a drive to improve processes, challenge the status quo, and create impact.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, international environment and growing alongside the organization.
