As a Finance Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to business leaders, helping drive commercial performance and deliver financial outcomes aligned with strategic objectives. You'll provide insightful analysis, challenge decision-making constructively, and translate complex financial information into actionable business recommendations.
You will be the primary Finance point of contact for your stakeholders, partnering closely with colleagues across Convatec Business Services (CBS) and the wider Finance organisation to ensure the business receives the support and expertise it needs.
Success in this role requires strong commercial acumen, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence senior leaders in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
Contract Type: This role is being recruited to provide temporary cover for an employee absence.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with business leaders to drive financial performance and support delivery of strategic and operational objectives.
Provide insightful analysis and recommendations, identifying risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans to optimise business performance.
Translate financial results into clear business insights, helping stakeholders understand performance drivers and make informed decisions.
Support planning, forecasting, and performance management processes, ensuring financial plans reflect strategic priorities and business realities.
Challenge assumptions constructively and assess the financial viability of business initiatives, investments, and commercial opportunities.
Develop and evaluate business cases, commercial agreements, pricing proposals, and strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with Finance teams across CBS and the wider organisation to ensure effective financial support and alignment.
Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and influencing decision-making through data-driven insights.
Contribute to the continuous development of commercial finance capabilities by sharing knowledge and best practices across the Finance organisation.
Lead and develop one direct report, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment.
Key Skills & Experience
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Significant experience in Finance Business Partnering, supporting Commercial, Sales, Marketing, or Business Leadership teams.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand business drivers and translate financial insights into actionable recommendations.
Proven ability to influence, challenge, and build credibility with senior stakeholders in a complex matrix organisation.
Experience developing business cases, evaluating commercial opportunities, and analysing complex financial scenarios.
Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
Ability to combine strategic thinking with strong attention to detail and execution.
Experience working in a fast-paced, international, and matrixed environment.
Previous experience within MedTech, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, FMCG, or other commercially focused industries is preferred.
Experience with SAP, Hyperion, Power BI, or similar financial reporting and planning tools is advantageous.
- Experience managing, mentoring, or coaching others, including responsibility for one direct report, is advantageous.
