A
professional services firm is seeking a meticulous and versatile Accounting and
Payroll Administrator to manage essential financial and payroll operations.
This role is designed for a candidate who excels at maintaining clean, accurate
records and ensuring full compliance with South African statutory requirements.
Your role will be to oversee the complete bookkeeping cycle up to trial balance
while managing end-to-end payroll processes. As this position involves
significant interaction with a specific client base, full professional
proficiency in both Afrikaans and English (written and verbal) is a
mandatory requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the full bookkeeping function, including the precise capturing and
processing of all financial transactions up to trial balance.
- Perform regular and detailed reconciliations of bank accounts, debtors,
and creditors to ensure financial integrity and accuracy.
- Manage the end-to-end
payroll cycle for both monthly and weekly pay runs, ensuring all staff are
remunerated accurately and on time.
- Calculate and
timeously submit all relevant statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, UIF,
and SDL, via SARS e-Filing
- Support the
management team by assisting with the preparation of basic financial
reports
- Act
as a professional point of contact for clients, providing high-level
service and addressing queries in both Afrikaans and English.
- Maintain accurate and
organised records within the accounting CRM and financial systems to
ensure seamless data flow and reporting.
Requirements
- Absolute fluency in
Afrikaans and English (both written and verbal) is essential.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’
experience in a combined accounting and payroll administration role.
- Proven expertise in
managing bookkeeping functions up to trial balance.
- Comprehensive knowledge
of South African payroll legislation and statutory submission
requirements.
- Exceptional numerical
accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Sage
One Pastel, SageVIP, Microsoft Office is required
- Accounting CRM software experience is
an advantage
