Job DescriptionOverview:
The Finance and Accounting Specialist plays a hands-on role in keeping our manufacturing operation financially strong—owning accurate records, supporting close and reporting, strengthening controls and compliance, and delivering analysis and KPIs that help leaders improve cost, margin, and cash performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support internal controls and compliance; assist with internal/external audits and maintain required documentation
- Support AP/AR processes, reconciliations, and accurate reporting of outstanding balances
- Monitor cash flow and support short- and mid-term cash flow projections
- Perform financial analysis and identify opportunities to improve financial performance and cost efficiency
- Support month-end and year-end close (journal entries, accruals, and variance explanations)
- Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs; translate results into clear, actionable insights for leadership
- Support cost accounting activities (manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and margin performance), as applicable
- Ensure data integrity across financial systems and integrations
- Maintain SOPs and process documentation; drive continuous improvement and support ad-hoc projects
- Tax support: file monthly state tax returns (sales and income taxes) and provide information for federal tax calculations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and tax laws
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP preferred or equivalent)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
