Role Overview
The role is part of the General Ledger Team within the Financial Reporting Team (“FRT”). FRT comprises a team that manages the General Ledger (“GL”), and the accounting, interfaces and controls (including reconciliations) over it, and another team that prepares monthly financial results (management reports and statutory entity reports).
What you’ll do:
Assists with the preparation of the general ledger to include journal preparation and posting and assisting with the month-end reporting close process
Helps to ensure that the GL is fully accurate and that the balance sheet is reconciled in line with policy and procedures and that reconciling items are accounted for correctly and on a timely basis
Proactively works to improve the financial reporting processes and controls within the function and management of process documentation to meet changing business requirements
Participates in adhoc finance projects and change activities
Assists external auditors with information requirements and queries
Complete other ad-hoc tasks as required
To maintain governance and control requirements, ensuring that all Bupa accounting and financial control policies are understood and applied within Bupa Global
What you’ll bring:
AAT (or equivalent/similar) qualification with a strong appetite to learn
Experience with PeopleSoft & SWAN desirable but not essential
Highly numerate, with the ability to process financial data and with a strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills (both verbally and written), driven, and with a team focus
Track record of exceeding business objectives
Demonstrable problem-solving skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Additional skills required
• Demonstrating ownership and accountability
• Adaptability and flexibility especially in a rapidly changing environment
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across multiple finance teams/departments
