About the role

In this role, you will assist the Finance Manager in timely and accurate production of all financial information.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting and period-end procedures within the established deadlines by performing journal entries and ensuring their correspondence with related supporting documentation. 

• Assist in preparing and compiling required information for external audits. 

• Liaise with stakeholders by providing supporting documents and resolving accounting issues and discrepancies as they arise in the daily processing of transactions. 

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable related tasks. 

• Assist in preparing financial and administrative reports for business lines and other stakeholders. 

• Support the maintenance of the contract database. 

• Assist in preparing cash reporting and bank reconciliation. 

• Assist in maintaining, updating and documenting internal controls as well as the GRI’s manual for financial procedures. 

• Support the preparation and execution of payments through electronic banking. 

• Act as system administrator for the organization's travel and expense management platform. 

Requirements

Work experience

• Professional education on at least Bachelor level (e.g. HEAO-BE or SPD Bookkeeping).

• Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience in an international environment and thorough understanding of administration relating to Accounting.

• Proven evidence of accounting and analytical skills, experience with finance software, detail orientation.

Knowledge and abilities

• Ability to set priorities whilst maintaining flexible and customer oriented, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Able to interact and communicate clearly.
  Ability to work in a team.

• Fluency in English (written and spoken) and intermediate Dutch (reading and understanding).

• Ability to deliver high quality service.

• Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural setting.

• Affinity with the mission GRI.

What we offer

• Location: Remote within +/- 4h of CET.

• Work hours: Full-time (40hrs/week).

• Contract type: 1 year with possibility of extension.

• Start date: as soon as possible.

• Salary benchmarked depending on location. We will share the salary range pertaining to your location of work ahead of the first interview.
