Main Performance Goals
Short-term: (0 to 2 months)
- Learn and perform month end processes required for accurate financial statements
- Learn and understand Kimball Electronics culture (external candidates)
- Understand the KEJ production facility to provide accurate financial data
- Demonstrate ability to navigate important transactions in SAP and other applications / systems critical to the position
- Learn and perform all PPV processes including the reconciliation analysis & reporting
- Learn the quoting, engineering changes (ECs), and price roll processes across all customers & product hierarchies
- Assist Program Managers with financial data required for customer PBRs
- Analyze and post any journal entries associated with the impact of manufacturing revenue related to price rolls
- Learn and understand the 6S audit process
Midterm: (3 to 6 months)
- Prepare and distribute necessary business reports (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Competently apply Kimball's methods for developing quote data for material quoting for preparing quotes
- Prepare and submit SPR’s (Special Price Requests) as needed from information given
- Maintain, from a functional application owner perspective, the SPR internal web-application – SPR Administrator
- Provide quoting statistics on a monthly basis
- Perform monthly 6S audit
- Own the record retention process
- Work with the standard cost system
- Understand the quote process and the customer profitability process and how both relate to the decision support data provided to management
Long Term: (6 to >12 months)
- Help lead, manage, and perform annual price rolls for multiple customers
- Work with the business unit various departments, global business development, and the customers to resolve all issues with quote data
- Provide recommendations for customer cost down opportunities
- Cross train with other Financial Analyst team members
- Identify gaps / errors in current business processes and recommend solutions
- Directly support enhancements and development of relevant business tools and systems
- Assist in improving business processes driving for gains in efficiency & effectiveness
Other (ad hoc priorities):
- Achieve Green Belt Certification in KEJ's Yellow/Green/Black Belt Certification Program
- Respond to audit inquiries promptly
- Help support internal control processes & reviews to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the business units financial statements
- Decision Support-focused ad-hoc projects, manage different projects and bring closure
- Help assist with any operational spend analysis and reporting
- Be a Change Agent, focusing on continuous improvement and innovation
You Have:
Basic Background Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years related work experience required
- The ability to work with all levels
- Detail oriented and emphasis on complete & accurate results
- Problem solving / analyzing and interpreting data
- Strong communication skills across all different functions of the business unit
- Capacity to request and gather information proficiently
- Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed, takes initiative
- Customer driven and focused, both internal and external
- A bachelor's degree (typically accounting or finance) or equivalent work experience
- Helpful, but not required are an MBA, CMA, CPA, or APICS (manufacturing) certifications
- Cost Accounting and Standard Cost experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
- Experience in Microsoft Office product, especially Excel, required
Helpful, but not required is knowledge of SAP
