Assures the integrity of financial and statistical data, via preparation or review of general ledger entries, reports, schedules, worksheets, reconciliations or other analysis. Works in a team environment providing support to finance analysts and leadership. Actively communicates and presents information to various audiences. Uses reporting tools to develop complex management financial information. May develop expertise and/or become primary owner of a technical process. Interprets and applies Mayo and governmental finance and accounting policies and procedures. QualificationsBachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance. If degree is in Accounting or Finance, minimum of 3 years applicable experience in accounting or finance is required.
Other business related bachelor's degrees require a minimum of 5 years of applicable accounting or finance experience.
A master degree in accounting or finance, a MBA, MHA, CPA (active or inactive), CMA or CIA can be substituted for one year experience.
Demonstrates a solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance concepts, including debits and credits, general ledger activity, financial statements, budgeting, variance analysis, and basic forecasting. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to organize, analyze, and present financial data. Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, and large accounting, financial reporting, or ERP systems is preferred.
Demonstrates strong analytical, investigational, communication, and relationship-building skills; attention to detail; and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Able to build constructive working relationships with operational, administrative, and physician leaders; communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences; and demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and a commitment to learning healthcare finance.
