Reports To: FP&A Senior Manager
Position Summary:
The position is a key role to manage Japan total Opex as Corp FP&A in Thermo Fisher scientific in Japan. As a strategic business partner, the position will actively work with CFO and back-office leaders in Japan as well as regional/global Finance counterparts.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare annual operating plan, monthly and mid-term forecasts, and long-term strategic plan.
- Forecast, track, analyze commercial P/L as well as preparing monthly/quarterly business review package.
- Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of variance. Find opportunities to improve financial performance.
- Develop financial models and perform financial analysis to support management decision making process.
- Effectively collaborate closely with Global division/Commercial/Finance and APAC Commercial/Finance teams
- Initiate and lead FP&A operational improvements
Attributes/Skills:
- Strong ability to analyze financial data and trends.
- Pay attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.
- Ability to think strategically and provide insights that drive business decisions.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address financial challenges and improve processes.
- A self-starter and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization in multi-national companies.
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, or equivalent knowledge; MBA is a plus.
- Thorough understanding in financial accounting
- Effective verbal & written communication abilities in English and Japanese
- Preferred experience in ERP (SAP/Oracle) and analytical tools (Hyperion)
