Job Title: Finance Analyst
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Working location: Bristol
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Operations Finance team.
As an Operations Finance Analyst, you’ll play a vital role supporting the Manufacturing, Assembly & Test businesses within Defence in Bristol by providing insightful financial analysis, management and statutory reporting that drives strategic decision-making and Operations performance. You’ll work closely with key stakeholders to provide decision support to drive business performance.
What you will be doing:
Monthly actuals reporting including journal preparation, variance analysis, updating the Scorecard and reconciling to source data
Balance Sheet management, including completing balance sheet reconciliations, audit reviews and answering questions from PWC, EFSC, and HQ where required
Supporting the MA&T capital process including fixed asset audit and reconciliations
Inventory reporting, movements, surplus scrap, WIP and provisions
Preparing and populating budget/forecasting models using key inputs from various business contacts, challenging inputs, using HFM, and preparing business review packs with meaningful business commentaries for review with the FBP MA&T
Understand and influence the key drivers providing training/coaching to the business teams where necessary
Provide support and ad hoc analysis where required
Involvement in the lean improvement activities, including implementing process improvements, standardisation, writing and maintaining how to guides

To be successful in this role you will need to:
Part-qualified / qualified or equivalent experience. (ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred)
Experience in finance analyst role, ideally within a large or complex organisation
Strong ERP skills (ideally in SAP) and advanced Excel capabilities, with the ability to build and understand insightful workbooks that go beyond basic formulas Strong analytical and Excel skills
Proactive mindset with excellent prioritisation and self-management skills to meet deadlines and self-check to deliver accurate reporting
Collaborative approach, able to work effectively within a team and challenge constructively
