HeadQuarters is a global start-up that partners with US cannabis companies to provide support in finance, sales operations, and logistics. We are currently seeking a Finance & Accounting Junior Associate to join our growing finance team.
Position Overview:
The Finance & Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of our Cannabis clients. You will do accounting tasks to support the preparation of financial reports and contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes. You must have excellent time management skills to balance multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting Support:
- Assist in preparing journal entries and posting them to the general ledger.
- Reconcile accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process invoices and ensure accurate coding for expenses.
- Prepare and maintain accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
- Assist with vendor and client invoicing and payment processing.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
- Analyze financial data and generate reports for management.
- Prepare internal and external reports.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and financial regulations.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation for audit purposes.
- Assist with external audits and ensure timely completion of audit schedules.
- Other Administrative Support:
- Provide support to senior finance staff as needed.
- Help streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Experience:
- One year of experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks.) is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Interest in process improvement and automation
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Advanced English level
