Overall Responsibilities

The F&A Analyst will provide in country finance and Admin support to the BEBAS TB Indonesia project. The F&A Analyst will report to the Finance & Accounting Manager. The F&A Analyst provide in country finance & Admin support to the BEBAS TB Indonesia project.

This position will work closely with the Indonesia MSH F&A team to ensure that BEBAS TB Indonesia team operates as a cohesive, functional unit within the broader MSH Indonesia structure that provides high- quality, responsive, timely and cost-effective services to all MSH projects within the framework of local laws, MSH policies & standard operating procedures, and donor requirements.

The F&A Analyst will be involved in accurate analysis of financial data such as budget, financial reports and forecast, will enforce MSH and Donor rules & regulations as they relate to accounting, budgeting & finance performance, comply with MSH procedures and actively support any internal and external audits as needed and work closely with the MSH Indonesia F&A team to identify internal control areas that need to be strengthened. He/She will promote sound financial management practices and provide the necessary assistance to MSH.

The F&A Analyst will contribute to archive project targets and ensure the smooth operations of the financial and administration of BEBAS TB Indonesia project including financial process efficiency, project analysis, budget preparation, accounting, financial reporting and budget management. He/She will monitor and ensure overall compliance. S/he must complete tasks maintaining high standard with quality and other tasks as requested by supervisor. The responsibilities and duties are indicative only. These responsibilities and duties are subject to change to meet the needs of the project, the organization, and the donor.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Analysis and financial commentary on pipeline reports prepared by country office. This role will analyze the monthly pipeline reports and burn rates to help assure MSH that we are tracking project expenses, financial obligations to sub partners and detailed monitoring of budgets to ensure compliance with Donor terms and conditions.

  • S/He will be responsible for reviewing on monthly basis project accounts such as profit or loss account, balance sheet and cashflow accounting entries.

  • Support in preparing donor deliverables such as financial reports and monthly invoices.

  • S/He will work with program teams to review work plan budgets and how they impact the monthly projected burn rates.

  • Assist the DFA with the Country budgeting process, forecasting, and maintaining our consolidated budget by updating grant information, program and support costs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or a similar field; plus master’s degree in business administration, MBA or accounting with several years’ experience is preferred.

Experience:

  • At least five (5) years’ experience in an independent accounting position with advanced bookkeeping responsibilities.

  • Experience in working with donor-funded projects and general understanding of their rules and regulations.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Work experience with projects supported by international organizations.

  • Proficient in Excel preferably advanced level.

  • Proficient in use of Financial Management Accounting systems i.e. QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, SAP, Agresso etc. (and modules like GL, Accounts Payable &, Procurement.

  • Experience in developing, analyzing and interpreting standard financial reports (Balance Sheet, Income Statement & Cash Flow) and creation of Journal entries required.

  • Familiarity with other donors and their requirements desirable

  • Fluency in English and excellent communication skills

  • Understanding of the basic tenets of Cash Control, Asset Management and Bank Reconciliation.
