The role
We're looking for a mid–senior Filmmaker to own the full video creative lifecycle at Encord — from concept to final cut. You're equally excited and comfortable behind the camera as you are in the edit suite: shooting on location with customers worldwide, crafting product stories, and collaborating closely with our design and growth teams to create content that's both strategically sharp and visually compelling.
What you'll do
- Shooting & Production
- Handle all on-site production: directing subjects, operating camera, managing lighting and audio, and adapting to varied environments
- Plan and execute on-location shoots with customers worldwide — interviews, product demonstrations, and b-roll capture
- Put people at ease on camera — skilled at building rapport quickly and drawing out natural, confident performances from customers and executives who aren't used to being filmed
- Own pre-production logistics — storyboarding, scheduling, equipment prep, and location scouting
- Product & Company Content
- Produce product demo videos and feature walkthroughs that make complex technical capabilities accessible to enterprise buyers
- Create company narrative content — brand films, culture videos, fundraising materials, and executive communications
- Build a reusable library of product footage and assets for use across sales, marketing, and investor contexts
- Editing & Post-Production
- Edit short to medium-form content across formats: customer stories, product explainers, social clips, and event recaps
- Enhance content with motion graphics, colour grading, and sound design
- Maintain a consistent visual identity across all output in line with Encord's brand
- Collaboration
- Work closely with Encord's design team to ensure video is coherent with the broader visual identity
- Partner with the growth team to align production with campaign timelines and demand generation goals
- Develop scripts and concepts that resonate with a technical, enterprise audience
- Coordinate with external freelancers or agencies when needed
What we're looking for
- A versatile, self-sufficient filmmaker who can own a production end-to-end — from concept and storyboard through shoot and final delivery — without needing a large crew around you
- A natural storyteller with strong editorial instincts: you know how to shape a compelling narrative from raw footage and make complex, technical subject matter feel accessible and engaging
- Confident directing non-professional subjects — customers, executives, engineers — and skilled at drawing out natural, relaxed on-camera performances
- Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of independence
- Curious about AI-assisted creative tools and actively integrating them into your workflow
- Willing and available to travel internationally for on-location shoots
Experience requirements
- 5–8 years of professional filmmaking experience, with a portfolio demonstrating range across long and short-form content — including at least some combination of customer stories, product content, brand films, or corporate communications
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and the broader Adobe CC suite, with strong post-production skills across colour grading, sound design, and motion graphics; After Effects experience is a strong plus
- Hands-on experience operating professional camera, audio, and lighting equipment across varied on-location environments
- Proven ability to own shoots from pre-production planning through on-location execution to final delivery
- Bonus: prior experience producing B2B or enterprise tech content; familiarity with AI, deep tech, or developer-focused products; skills in 3D, data visualisation, or technical motion graphics
Why Encord
- Competitive salary, commission, and equity in a high-growth start-up
- Strong in-person culture — most of the team works from our London office 4+ days/week
- 25 days annual leave + UK public holidays
- Annual learning & development budget
- Travel for customer visits, events, and conferences across the UK and Europe
- Company lunches twice a week
- Monthly socials & bi-annual team offsites
