What you will do:
As with all members of the department, the Film Buyer executes the film booking plan for a specific region. They will be responsible to monitor and assist with content delivery; the planning, booking and execution of film premieres; and trailer coordination and communication.
This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office). Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.
Key Responsibilities
Booking:
-
Film programming for a specific region of the country. Maintain good relationships with distribution partners.
Content Delivery:
-
Monitor content delivery and key digital message delivery to all circuit sites and troubleshoot as needed

Manage ingest letter library and archive (Theatrical, Event Cinema, International)
Film Premieres/Theatre support:
-
Planning, booking, and coordination/communication between distribution partners and theatres
-
Attend and manage on site premieres; troubleshoot as needed

Coordination of screenings, sneak peeks, and special events coordination
Trailer Coordination:
-
Trailer coordination and communication for the full circuit

Assist with trailer placement, classifications, and administration (Theatrical, Event Cinema, International)

Manage print counts on a weekly basis
Education & Certification

Applicants must have a college/university degree and be a mature self-starter.
Experience
-
A minimum of 2-3 years of film industry with an emphasis on theatrical operations experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Efficiency and excellent oral and written communication skills are requirements for this position.

Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem solving with strong decision-making capability.

Willing to work flexible or overtime hours and be on call to meet challenging and changing deadlines.

Possess a high level of professionalism and can take initiative, meet deadlines, work independently and manage upward.
