About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Field Sales and Education Manager based in Southern California who has a true passion for clean skincare, bodycare and fragrance to support our growing retail distribution network. They will be an example and advocate of the Oak Essentials lifestyle and a champion to drive success at the retail store level. This position is responsible for driving sales and event success within their region, working at designated stores 3- 4 days/week with the primary responsibility of educating customers and in-store team on the brand and product, building relationship with retail store managers and regionals, providing in store selling support, and managing a network of freelance field sales team and estheticians within their region. The ideal candidate must enjoy the retail environment, have a passion for people and service, and have experience in beauty retail. The candidate must be a self-starter with strong relationship building and selling skills and the ability to build a sale while adhering to retailer guidelines and standards.

This role will cover our West Coast region, which includes CA, OR, WA, NV & AZ, and will report to the Vice President of Sales. 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Field Sales & Education Manager, your primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Act as a representative of Oak Essentials at all times, reflecting core company values, reliability and professionalism
  • Travel to focus stores 4 days/week (flexibility on days of week including weekends required) to support both ongoing training, daily selling and events
  • Partner with Director of Education to become an Oak Essentials product expert; train retail store teams on key product benefits, ingredients, selling tips and application techniques
  • Align with VP of Sales on target sales goals (weekly, monthly and annual) for region by store and provide sales and education support to meet and exceed them
  • Sell side-by-side with the in-store sales team to drive sales in focus stores
  • Place a strong focus on sales team education during down time when in-store
  • When in retail stores, work with in-store team to ensure displays are fully stocked with product and that all displays comply with visual guidelines
  • Provide recaps for each in-store visit, including sales generated, low stock callouts, visual needs, photos of displays, etc.
  • Work in partnership with VP of Sales, freelance field sales support agency, and freelance esthetician network to coordinate and schedule in-store sales support for focus stores, events and education initiatives within your region
  • Continuously build your network of freelance estheticians for event support
  • Maintain an in-store support and activation schedule by retailer accessible by leadership
  • Develop event activation programs to increase brand presence in focus doors and ensure proper execution in line with brand standards
  • Act as the primary day-to-day brand contact for focus stores within your region, building relationships with Store Managers and Regional Managers from the retailers and leveraging those for event opportunities, education opportunities, etc.
  • Work with Director of Education and VP of Sales to ensure major retailer events are planned for well in advance, including participating in the development of event strategy within your region and ensuring adequate staffing for events
  • Take retailer feedback and adjust strategy for field support and education within your region accordingly
  • Develop and maintain regional sales reporting by store to be provided weekly to OE leadership
  • Assist in preparation for regular retailer market meetings, ensuring sales leadership has all necessary reporting and feedback to build the market deck
  • Maintain professional, clear, and prompt communication with all retailers
  • Understand retailer-specific cultures and modify the approach to achieve success

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of cosmetic or skincare sales experience in an account executive or as an experienced account coordinator
  • Passion for customer service and selling
  • Comfortable public speaking
  • Ability to speak to a group, inspire, and motivate sales teams with previous experience managing and developing a freelance team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, & Excel
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities across multiple retailers, strong organizational skills required
  • Confident in building and maintaining relationships with team members and leadership at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule- weekends & holidays required
  • Willingness to travel 75% of the time and be in-stores 4 days/week
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to stand and walk for 8+ hours at a time
  • Must be able to move and lift heavy objects (25 pounds or more) from time to time as required
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time

Oak Essentials, LLC is committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment. This position's annual base salary range is $100,000-$125,000. Experience, education, skills, and location determine the base salary.
