Field Robotics Engineer / Equipment Operator (ANZ)

As we continue expanding across Australia & New Zealand, we are seeking a motivated and hands-on Field Robotics Engineer / Equipment Operator to support field deployments, transportation, operation, and service of our high-tech machinery. This role is critical to ensuring successful customer operations and delivering exceptional in-field support across the region.

The Field Robotics Engineer serves as Carbon Robotics’ boots on the ground, working directly with customers to provide technical support, machine operation, transportation logistics, and on-site troubleshooting within an assigned service region. This role maintains a close working relationship with the Field Operations leadership team while collaborating closely with Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success teams at headquarters.

As the primary in-field point of contact, you will help resolve machine issues, support customer onboarding and training, assist with demonstrations and site visits, and ensure safe and efficient transportation and operation of Carbon Robotics equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver efficient field support to customers using Carbon Robotics equipment to include verifying machines operating at peak efficiency by proper calibration, monitoring, and regular preventive maintenance service that will be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. 
  • Quickly respond to customer concerns and identify the issue(s), in collaboration with other Carbon Robotics departments/teams.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems
  • Excellent relationship management, customer service, and communication skills
  • Maintain all company property, including service truck, tools, laptop, Ipad, and safety equipment in good working condition
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with customers and teams within Carbon Robotics
  • Attend in person or virtual FRE related meetings with other service team members to stay current with the Carbon Robotics Ops team agendas.
  • In addition to the duties listed above, the position holder must carry out tasks assigned by their supervisor that are essentially related to their duties.
  • Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport robotic weeding equipment across ANZ locations.
  • Load, unload, and secure robotic equipment and related gear during transportation.
  • Operate Carbon Robotics equipment (e.g., LaserWeeder) on customer farms to ensure optimal performance.
  • Demonstrate how to properly operate Carbon Robotics equipment.
  • Communicate with engineering and support teams to report issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with site setup, calibration, and system checks prior to operation.
  • Maintain detailed records of operations, mileage, maintenance, and delivery reports.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kilograms

Requirements:

  • Valid Australian driver’s license (Unrestricted).
  • Clean driving record and knowledge of cross-border transport regulations.
  • Experience operating agricultural or industrial machinery.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively and stay on-site for multi-day operations.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Right to work in the APAC

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in modern farming operations, agtech, or precision agriculture.
  • Familiarity with GPS, sensors, and autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles.
  • Technical training or certification in equipment operation or mechanics.
