THE POSITION

Keyera is currently seeking a Field Operator (Northern Field) for our Simonette field. The role would ensure our facilities are operated in a safe and environmentally friendly manner, with a focus on exceeding Keyera’s commitments to safety performance and reliability.  This is a camp position based at the Simonette Operations Camp with regular travel to other locations throughout the Northern Field area. The role requires the successful candidate to have a flexible schedule consisting of day shift while also providing after hours support if required.

Camp Based Position 8x6 rotation. Local candidates to Valleyview & Fox Creek welcomed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure Keyera's Values, Cultural Behaviors and vision is followed
  • Continuously monitor field operating conditions to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the gas gathering systems
  • Perform regular checks on critical equipment and operating trends to ensure the infrastructure and facilities are operating in a safe and reliable manner
  • Complete routine operations work such as troubleshooting equipment, manipulating valves, and pigging in a safe and reliable manner
  • Respond to call outs and field upsets and make process adjustments to mitigate any abnormal operating conditions as required
  • Support and assist with maintenance activities including, service requests, permitting and LOTO
  • Accountable for ensuring regulatory requirements in the area are adhered to, managed, and reported in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the execution and sustainment of Operational Excellence and AMR across the regional facilities.
  • Ensure consistent and transparent communication to Cross shifts, shift crew members, supervisors, and pertinent stakeholders as required.
  • Identify, implement and follow best practices to reduce risk and enhance operational effectiveness of the assets.
  • Support and drive the use of procedures, FLHA’s, management of change processes, and internal communication daily.
  • Experience with Acid Gas (AGI) / Water disposal wells and associated equipment is beneficial
  • May be required to provide area coverage for both Wapiti and Simonette fields.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of industry experience focused in sour gas & liquid pipeline operation.
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
  • Previous turnaround, commissioning, and Project execution experience would be considered as asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to provide timely and relevant feedback.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Analytical, reporting, conflict resolution, problem solving and facilitation skills.
  • Team Player with ability to build strong collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Comfortable to work outdoors for extended periods of time in changing weather conditions.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to provide after hour support or additional coverage to support field operations if required.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract).
  • This role requires the candidate to wear respiratory protective equipment. As per Alberta OHS 250(2), the candidate must ensure an adequate face piece seal can be achieved while on shift.
  • Standard safety tickets required
