Position scope:

Field Service Engineer operates in a designated territory and represents QuidelOrtho. We consider the Field Service Engineer a strategic point of contact for our customers, ensuring that the analyzers always operate efficiently and making our customers’ life easier. Field Service Engineer works in synergy together with Field Specialist and Sales in the territory, delivering customer excellence through innovation and strategic focus. 

Your new role - What you'll be doing:

  • The Field Service Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, upgrading and performing preventative maintenance, according to instructions and company guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through solid written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Maintain a high level of professional communication with the team, customers, management, sales and technical support.
  • Manage to schedule preventative maintenance, installations and upgrades, as well as incoming customer calls, demonstrating the ability to assess and prioritize the urgency of customer’s requests. Follow-through to complete all the tasks within the due date.
  • Examine difficult customer issues, diagnose and resolve them, meeting established service levels.
  • Understand and recognize the need to escalate incidents when necessary and/or request additional assistance on time.
  • Maintain effective territory management and expense control, which includes timely completion and submission of field service and expense reports along with management of consignment and other required documentation according to the internal procedures.
  • Manage the spare parts car stock, in terms of total value, urgent and/or replenishment orders and by returning the replaced repairable parts.

What you'll need to succeed

  • The candidate should live in South-East of Piemonte, nearby Alessandria.
  • Minimum: Technical Diploma, specialized in electronics or informatics or equivalent
  • Previous experience in the role of Field Engineer for Medical or In Vitro Diagnostics devices (3-5 years)
  • IT knowledge
  • English required level: Intermediate Level – ALTE B1 – BEC.
