The Field Application specialist position is based out of the home office which is to be located near Eastern PA or NJ/NYC area to assist in supporting business local to PA/NJ/NY as well as in neighboring states as assigned by manager. Candidate must reside in – or be willing to relocate to – the PA/NJ/NY area.

As the Field Application Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the Sales Organization and Sartorius Customers within the Mid-Atlantic NA territory by offering product expertise, Upstream applications knowledge, and technical support. The main mission is successful application, implementation, qualification, and use of Sartorius’ Upstream products by supporting Sales and our end-users for product positioning, presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations whilst supporting customers with application development work, initial startup, training, troubleshooting, and ongoing support that enables their success.

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • You will support the Sales organization with customer discussions on existing products through product presentations, demonstrations, trials and application studies.
  • You will support new products through close collaboration with beta site testing and product demonstrations/discussions and information gathering.
  • Your duties will include supporting Sales in the customer process, URS analysis & technical response, and lead customer evaluations to help position products in line with the application requirements. Strategize with assigned Account Managers to generate value-adding activities according to customer and business need.
  • One of your tasks will be to assist the Company by occasionally supporting the training of other field Application Specialists and the Sales organization on assigned technologies and/or processes.
  • You will provide technical qualification of sales opportunities to ensure appropriate positioning of technology within the customer application.
  • Ensure training of customers on new technologies and support initial start-up operations
  • In this role, you will support regional marketing initiatives.
  • You will support Quality Department in the quality complaint process by troubleshooting and analyzing customers processes for better investigation and resolution.
  • You will support the development of strong relationships with accounts within the assigned sales territory.
  • Your responsibilities will include reporting on competitors' product implementation & presence within the territory by feedback to the Application Services and Product Management Team.
  • On a monthly basis, you will report on territory activity for management.
  • On an as needed basis, there will be occasional overnight travel which will be required to support customers/sales, to attend organizational meetings and trainings will be required (30%).

What will convince us:

  • You have completed a Bachelors degree in biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, biotechnology or a related field.
  • You possess 3+ Years biopharmaceutical industry experience within MSAT, cGMP Manufacturing, and/or Tech Transfer teams.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs safely due to the requirement to handle equipment.
  • You possess proven knowledge of biopharmaceutical industry including biologics process development.
  • Expect up to 30% overnight travel on business days.
  • Product and application expertise with Upstream Processing technologies (Single-use technology and scale-up expertise highly valued).
  • You have the ability to interact with people at various levels (sales, technical, end-users, leaders) within our internal structure as well as our customers.
  • Computer proficient in Windows-based software package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Base salary offered for the position is $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 depending on experience, plus bonus and car allowance.
