Group/Division

The Customer Engagement (CE) team is our field based, customer facing organization consisting of Technical Engagement Managers and Application Engineers. The team partners closely with our customers to provide a comprehensive portfolio of products, software, and expertise, to help customers manage yield throughout their fabrication process—from research and development to final volume production. Responsibilities of this group include maintaining strategic client relationships, partnering with our sales team in identifying and closing sales opportunities, ensuring our products meet performance capabilities & expectations, providing critical solutions for improved yield performance, and collecting requirements for future products by understanding customer processes and technology trends. Partnering with our sales organization and factory divisions, this diverse and dynamic team helps ensure alignment between customer needs and product offerings to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Job Description

Field Applications Engineer: Responsible for providing technical applications support for the development and implementation of KLA products in customer fabrication facilities. Presents on all aspects of products. Assists sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs. Prepares detailed product specifications. Implements detailed customer installation plans. Provides follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications. Foreign language skills would be an advantage in this role. Developing new applications, use cases and best-known methods for increasing value of KLA products for customers. Must have analytical and complex problem-solving skills, be self-motivated and driven new applications, use cases and best-known methods for increasing value of KLA products for customers. Must have analytical and complex problem-solving skills, be self-motivated and driven to make a positive impact. Job responsibilities will include working with cross-functional teams to shape roadmap, Beta and eval closures. Must have excellent written and communication skills including delivering technical presentations with clarity. Experience in semiconductor fabrication industry and semiconductor processing is desirable. Knowledge of optics and machine learning concepts is desirable. Candidate must be willing to travel within JAPAN (>50%). Minimum Qualifications: BS degree in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science. Native level Japanese language skill.
