Field Application Engineer for IoT Systems (m/w/d)

Job Description

As a team member in the product management team you will:

• Support installation of new products and solutions in the introduction phase to the market with customer project managers and ensure regular monitoring of the installation
• Contribute to the transition of product prototypes into production to ensure quality and reliability and provide the feedback to R&D
• Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with development teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
• Go on-site in accordance with customer project managers and/or customer support team for analysis and troubleshooting
• Development-related 3rd level error analysis of the overall system
• Identify risks and initiate corresponding countermeasures
• Prepare reports of on-site installations, investigation results and problems, monitoring of the customer solution.
• Conduct on-site visits for established products in alignment with customer project managers for quality assurance
• Escalate according to internal guidelines
• Help support teams with new products and solutions on-site

Qualifications

Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience as Field Application Engineer or something similar (Technical customer management experience, Technical Support, Sales Engineering or product manager in the field of IoT devices, electronic consumer products or SaaS products, etc.)

Skills:

• Network infrastructure troubleshooting
• IoT knowhow: radio protocols like WiFi/Bluetooth LE/Zigbee/LoRa
• Software: Basic coding skills, scripting, log analysis (like Azure Kusto Query, Sumologic, Splunk), Linux
• Data processing skills, analytical abilities, and the ability to interpret complex data sets
• Nice to have: Experience with the usage of radio sniffers

Education:

• University of Applied Sciences or Higher Technical College (with experience) for software engineering or equivalent experience

A minimum basic salary of EUR 3.455 gross per month for full-time employment applies to the advertised position with a willingness to pay depending on the actual qualifications.
