Job Description:

Are you passionate about cutting-edge technology and eager to make a real impact in the world of programmable logic? Join Microchip as an FPGA Field Application Engineer (FAE) and become a trusted technical advisor, innovator, and business builder for our clients. In this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate with industry leaders, shape the future of technology, and help clients unlock new possibilities with Microchip’s advanced solutions.

What You’ll Do:
•    Be a Technical Champion: Provide both pre-sales and post-sales technical support for complex products and solutions, with a focus on FPGAs, across all Microchip product lines.
•    Lead Innovation: Serve as an expert in all phases of programmable logic design—from requirements analysis and HDL development to simulation, processor system design, synthesis optimization, timing closure, and hardware debug.
•    Drive Client Success: Advise clients on innovative ideas and solutions, helping them accelerate time to market, reduce costs, and enhance product performance.
•    Influence and Inspire: Offer unique perspectives on technology, guiding clients to see new opportunities and build consensus for Microchip’s solutions within their organizations.
•    Collaborate Globally: Work within a diverse, global team to develop and implement strategies for clients across multiple locations.
•    Communicate and Connect: Liaise with Microchip Business Units for technical support and provide valuable feedback to measure the impact of our solutions.
•    Mentor and Grow: Coach, mentor, and train fellow FAEs, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
•    Launch the Future: Play a key role in the introduction and launch of new products.
 

Requirements/Qualifications:

•    5+ years of relevant industry experience with FPGA-based architecture definition, design, and support, including High-Speed Serial IO and/or Embedded Processor.
•    5+ years of experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal analyzers.
•    5+ years of experience in semiconductor applications/sales.
•    Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to work in a matrixed team environment.
•    Familiarity with aerospace products and designs are a bonus.
•    A Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science with a strong academic track record.
•    Embedded Linux knowledge is a plus.
•    Must be able to speak and write in English fluently.

•    Ownership—Goes out of his or her way to complete a task and has a relentless drive to achieve results; is independent, self-directed, and takes initiative.
•    Workflow/Project Management—Sets clear, realistic, and time-bound objectives that align to business growth; breaks each objective into tasks and process steps that can be achieved within a realistic timeframe.
•    Adaptability – Ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously, and work with client design teams across a variety of markets and applications. Identify and communicate Microchip product differentiators targeting specific customer products.
