- Team Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor a team of payments professionals, setting clear direction, coaching for performance, and scaling the team as operations expand.
- Define KPIs and operational controls to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all FIAT payment flows.
- Payments Operations Management
- Oversee customer FIAT deposits and withdrawals, ensuring seamless movement of funds between exchange systems and bank accounts.
- Reconcile daily FIAT balances, investigate variances, and produce detailed monthly reporting with discrepancy analysis.
- Design and implement controls to ensure payments are accurate and complete, preventing errors or delays.
- Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure adherence to EU regulatory frameworks (MFSA) across all payment operations.
- Work closely with compliance, risk, and legal teams to anticipate regulatory changes and stay compliant.
- Process Optimization & Innovation
- Champion automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Test and support new product offerings, payment methods, and system enhancements.
- Leadership & Drive
- At least 6+ years of experience in FIAT payment operations within crypto, fintech, banking, or payment services.
- 2+ years of people management experience, with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and grow a team.
- Strong determination and ownership mindset, with the ability to set direction and inspire others to achieve ambitious goals.
- Technical Expertise – This is Key
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of EU payment systems, specifically SEPA, iDeal, and Bancontact, including settlement processes, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in financial reconciliation, variance analysis, and the ability to diagnose and resolve anomalies in monthly reports.
- Familiarity with AML/KYC and MFSA regulations will be advantageous.
- Analytical & Operational Excellence
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-moving, 24/7 environment.
- Communication & Collaboration
- Proficiency in English, written and spoken, with a track record of partnering across cross-functional and international teams.
